I have to say I agree with your vie...Great article. I have to say I agree with your views. We fought for Bill Clinton when he should never have put himself in this predicament in the first place. He should have been fighting for us instead of engaging in debauchery.
My only other point is that Hillary likens her experience to the 8 years of her husband in office and all of the good and surplus the country experienced. I agree with her for doing so. However, if you take the good parts of the presidency then you must also accept responsibility for the bad and THAT is the precedent we do not wish on this country again.
Best,

John and Beatrix Bingham
Birmingham, ALAAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8234026376256611660.post-57471617056165406072008-01-29T18:34:00.000-08:002008-01-29T18:34:00.000-08:00Sam R says, I find what is happening right now...Sam R says,
I find what is happening right now with the Clintons a little spooky. Have you noticed that the the whole inner establishment of the Democratic party is lining up against Clinton. He always was a bit of an outsider in the party and was only grudgingly accepted because of his popularity with the masses.
I do find the recent comments by Bill distasteful, however, I think the response is a bit overblown. The press has had a virtual field day of indignation that was so strikingly missing during the Bush campaigns. Do you remember the campaign against McCain in South Carolina or the "swift boat" group. We are seeing an eerie replay of a press voice that was consistently manipulated in its haste to demonize the Clintons.
Its easy to forget the how much the first Clinton presidency was constantly bombarded with a well funded republican smear machine and an easily duped press
(and Democratic establishment not really backing him up).
I do not yet know who I am going to support in the primary. It is certainly exciting to entertain the possibility of major government change and the country can benefit greatly by going forward with a message of "hope", however I have yet to hear any new or good ideas coming from the Obama camp. The big names coming to his support only reiterate the same generalities that Obama has so artfully put out. I don't expect a candidate to know exactly what they would do when in office but it would at least be nice to hear creative or insightful comments. I have yet to hear these.
An Obama presidency would be a complete unknown. Of course that is a major appeal compared with a Clinton presidency which seems quite predictable.
The power structure of the most established segment of the Democratic party has decided to back the Obama horse. My worst fear is that it will lead to an ineffective presidency much as the present Democratic congress has been.
SamAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8234026376256611660.post-45807875957681514592008-01-29T17:23:00.000-08:002008-01-29T17:23:00.000-08:00Very astute reasoning by our formeer Clinton suppo...Very astute reasoning by our formeer Clinton supporters. I vigorously agree with their contention that the Clintons have turned the contest into a bitter, adverserial dialogue. On the other hand, I don't want to overly criticize Mr. Clinton's presidency. No matter what he did or didn't do, he tried to bring people together, not apart, as Mr W. has done. We must ensure that a Democratic candidate wins the election, and right now, to my mind, Sen. Obama is the person to set a higher moral bar for our country.eichenghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01326832990295169000noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8234026376256611660.post-46613165967715868932008-01-29T16:58:00.000-08:002008-01-29T16:58:00.000-08:00I think it was very incher resting and i am to you...I think it was very incher resting and i am to young but i would deffintlly vote for BroakObama.I think your blog rules!
